Fonzie is the sweetest cocker ever! He has soulful cocker eyes, that draw you in. He wants to be loved and to love you. He gets along with dogs and most cats. He will run up to a cat to check him/her out. If they run, the chase is on... but he is not cat aggressive otherwise and is easily dissuaded by a clawed paw slap from being a nuisance. He can often be found laying on the couch with a cat on a cushion, both snoozing. Fonzie knows how to use the doggie door, although he does not like wet grass like many cockers. He will have accidents in the house, if you don't make him go out when it's wet outside. Fonzie loves to go on walks or on car rides. His foster mom has taken him to her riding stables and he has enjoyed running around free, but safe. He has a good recall (for foster Mom) and knows how to sit and down. He is very close to doing a sit up/beg. He's polite when taking treats. He does not show much interest in toys. He can be a little anxious when left alone. He is crate trained, but doesn't like to be separated from his "human" if not absolutely necessary.

Fonzie gets ear infections often and needs diligent attention to his ears to keep them healthy. He also has a hereditary kidney disease, which causes him to drink more water than usual (and urinate). The protein levels in his urine need to be monitored by a vet.

He does well on Blue Buffalo dog food. In the past he has had diarrhea with lower quality foods.
