Ferdinand a.k.a. Ferdie is an incredibly handsome, tri-colored youngster. He is a shy, quiet boy who seldom barks. He likes attention and loves to be with his pup or human companions. His favorite activities are eating and sleeping. He enjoys laying next to his people or in his doggy bed for TV watching. He is perfectly content being a couch potato lap doggy. Once he gets to know you, he will sit or lay in your lap.
Ferdie is a medium-sized pup at 28 pounds. He walks well on a leash, rides well in the car and is housebroken. He will sleep with his humans or in his own bed. If he’s sleeping with you or can get your attention, he’ll let you know when he needs to go outside to potty… even if it’s 3 a.m. Ferdinand is crate-trained but not fond of his crate. Fortunately, he doesn’t require crating; he is a very good boy in the house when left alone with his other pup companions; no wild parties or tearing up the place. He is learning to come when called but very slowly and tentatively when he does.
Ferdinand really enjoys the company of other pups and we would like him to have at least one canine companion for when his family is not at home, two or three other pups would be even better. Ferdinand also gets along fine with kitty cats. We think he will be alright with younger children in the home but feel his ideal home would be an “older atmosphere” and one where his family is at home most of the time.
