Your donations help us pay our vet bills, plain and simple. Every rescued Cocker visits the vet before they can be adopted. We give them all the recommended vaccinations, test them for heartworms, and spay or neuter them. If they need additional medical treatment, we usually provide that too. We do not turn down adoptable dogs with known medical conditions if we can treat them. This takes money.
While we receive some funds through our adoption fee, it does not cover all of our expenses. Last year our average cost per dog was $350 - yet we only ask for a $250 donation when someone adopts a Cocker kid. Last year we treated more than 20 dogs with heartworms, took care of numerous cherry eyes, nursed several Cocker kids through kennel cough and gave another a chance to walk again by treating a leg bound by wire and a rubber band.

We know that everyone is struggling right now and we want you to know that even the smallest monthly donation can make a difference! Leave a loving legacy by supporting DFWCSR after you're gone. It can be as simple as naming DFWCSR as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy or investment account or by setting up a trust. Consult your financial advisor, accountant or lawyer on the best way to include DFWCSR in your estate plan.
